Gerald Reynolds, 76, of Locke, NY, (Summerhill) passed away on Friday June 4, 2021 at Cortland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Gerald was born on April 7, 1945 to his parents the late Robert Dewitt Reynolds and Ruth Eloise Mallison- Reynolds in Halls, TN. He worked many various careers in his lifetime. Gerald spent 20 years as a bus driver at the Groton School District. He was a very talented machinist. He worked for Carl Sagan and created parts for the antenna on the satellite in Puerto Rico. Gerald loved his motorcycles and was a member of various motorcycle and automotive groups. Gerald was also a member of the Chrome Cruisers. He was a lifetime member of the Southern Tier Gas and Steam Engine Association and was also a charter member of T.O.Y.S (Tractors of Yesteryears). Gerald was a dairy farmer for his entire life and also owned sawmills, purchasing his first one at 17 years old. He was so proud to show his family and friends the various sites that used the lumber he cut. Almost every Saturday night Gerald could be found at the Country Music Park dancing alongside his wife Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte of 56 years; daughters Jennifer Reynolds and Julie Reynolds; his siblings Duane "Tony" (Jennie) Reynolds, Thomas "Mike" (Susan Harris) Reynolds, Susan (Ray) Chapman, Ann Marie (Mike) Reagan, and Bill Reynolds; grandchildren Mikayla and Hunter Cook; brother-in-laws Bob (Sandy) Walker and Gerald "Butch" (Nancy Golden) Walker; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gerald was predeceased by his son Gregory in 2018.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 10th from 4 to 7pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 11th at 10am at the funeral home. The family asks that all who attend, please wear a mask when not seated and to practice social distancing when possible. Burial will follow the service, and will take place at West Hill Cemetery in Homer. Those planning to attend the burial that ride a motorcycle, please consider riding theirs to the cemetery.
