Obituary of Lawrence J. Smith

Lawrence J. Smith, 81, of Cortland passed away on June 6, 2021. He was born on November 2, 1939 in Cortland NY, the son of the late Leon and Marian Alger Smith. He is pre-deceased by his brothers George and Gary, and by Marjorie, his wife of 30 years. Larry is survived by his sister Linda (Bruce) Macdonald, his step sons Michael Campbell and Robert (Teri) Campbell, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry was a fan of NASCAR, football, computer gaming, and he was an avid "car guy". He wore his heart on his sleeve, was a fun-loving man, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 16 at 4-6pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. A private burial will be held at a later date.
