Obituary of Thomas R. Crane

Thomas R. Crane, 76, of Harford NY, passed away unexpectedly June 9, 2021. He was born March 19, 1945 in Norwich NY.
Tom was raised on the Crane Family Farm in Cincinnatus. After graduating from Cincinnatus High School, he attended SUNY Morrisville. Tom worked as a Lieutenant for the Cortland County Sheriff's Department, Transportation Supervisor for the Dryden Central School District, and Dispatcher for Suit-Kote. He was a member of the Lions Club and Draft Horse Club. Tom enjoyed driving his horses, blacksmithing, wood working, studying history, collecting antiques, and riding his motorcycle.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Debra Crane, his daughters Rochelle Crane, Charla (Ryan) Starliper, Ariana (Jay) Harris, his son Eric (Nicole) Woodcock, grandchildren JuShawna and Justice Crane, Paul and Cole Starliper, Mason and Alaina Harris, his brother Richard (Jackie) Crane Jr, Step-brothers Terry Shufelt and Ric Shufelt, his niece Beatrice (Craig) Crane-Banford, and nephew William Crane.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Richard Crane, his step-mother Jean Crane, and his niece Lisa Crane.
Calling hours will be Thursday June 17th 10-11:45 am with a funeral service to begin 12 noon at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045, with Rev. Nathaniel Wright officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor Cemetery.
