Obituary of Andrew Crosby

Andrew Christopher Crosby, 25, of Cortland passed away on June 29, 2021 at Guthrie Cortland Hospital after a short illness. He was born on September 11, 1995 in Syracuse NY. Andrew, the son of Ann DeSanta and Christopher Crosby, was a lifetime resident of the Cortland area graduating from Cortland High School. He loved and lived for the restaurant industry, and was a lifetime employee at the Dark Horse. Andrew was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was respected and loved by all. Andrew was known for his special hand shake, huge smile, big hugs, hearty laugh and jolly demeanor, storytelling and jokes that brightened your day. Andrew is survived by his parents Ann DeSanta and Christopher Crosby, his brother Nicholas Crosby and their dog Walter, his aunt Mary Jo Spooner, uncle Peter (Rosalee) Crosby, aunt Toni (Wayne) Williams, cousins Michael and Sarah Williams, John (Brandy) Lyon, Alexis and Jack Lyon, and many extended family members and friends. Andrew was predeceased by his grandparents Tony and Joan DeSanta and Ian and Faye Fraser, his aunt Maria DeSanta and his uncle Randy Crosby. Calling hours at Wright-Beard Funeral Home will be held on Friday, July 9th starting at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. A live stream will also be broadcast on the wrightbeard.com website.
