Obituary of Sherry Lynn Hinkle Wright

Sherry Lynn Hinkle Wright August 4, 1954 to June 27, 2021 After a brief struggle with illness, Sherry L. Wright passed away peacefully with family at her bedside. Sherry was comfortable and ready to go to Heaven to be with her mother, father, grandmas, and her beloved Bassett Hound A-U. Sherry was one of the most caring, thoughtful, generous, and courageous people on Earth. She had a smile that lit up the world. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends. God has a new angel in Heaven and she will serve him well. Sherry is survived by the love of her life, son Timothy Wright ( Lauren), Groton, NY, grandson, Marlin Wright, who she adored, brother Larry Hinkle ( Janice), Rotonda West, FL; half brother John Nicholas of Ithaca, NY. Nephews and nieces include Michelle Watkins, Randy Hinkle, Alisha and Dominick Nicholas,Lisa Bustamante, and Terry Manderville. She is also survived by her former husband, Charlie Wright, who unselfishly spent the last ten months of her life caring for her. Her best friends include Joan Havington Compagni Call and Patti (Cerio) Allen who also survive. Sherry served as a secretary in the Education department at Cortland Memorial Hospital from July 1978 to December 2002. Upon her retirement, she moved to Port Richey, FL to enjoy the daily sunshine. Sherry was a graduate of Cortland High School, class of 1972. Sherry was predeceased by her father, Marlin Hinkle, mother, Edith Nicholas, and Step-father, Richard Nicholas. Calling hours will be held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and a service will follow from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
