Obituary of Margaret Violet Ostrander

Margaret Violet Ostrander, 95 of Cortland passed away on September 14, 2021. She was born on December 9, 1925 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late Albert and Egeria Robinson Armstrong. Margaret worked at Chappell's Department Store and previously at Durkee's Bakery in Homer and Cortland. Family was very important to her. She especially loved her grandchildren and enjoyed seeing them and spending time with them. She enjoyed sewing and being outdoors. Margaret was always willing to help her family with any of their needs. Margaret is survived by her son, John Ostrander, two daughters, Margaret (Thomas) Williams, Mary Edwards, a brother Ray Armstrong, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by, her loving husband, George Ostrander, brothers, George and Ed Armstrong, sisters Jean Ostrander, Louise VanHorn and Betty Jenson. Calling hours will be 11-11:45 AM Monday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland with a memorial service to follow at 12PM. Burial will follow in Atwater Cemetery.
