Obituary of Dennis William West

Dennis William West, 58, of Cortland, NY, passed away suddenly on October 5, 2021, at the Crown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cortland. Dennis was born in NIskayuna, New York, on November 3, 1962, the beloved son of Lucille (Heins) West and the late William J. West. He graduated from Shaker High School in 1981 and attended Sullivan County Community College where he studied the food industry. Dennis was a hardworking and dedicated employee who held various positions in the food service industry for over 40 years. He was the Owner/Operator and Chef of The Boulevard Restaurant in Albany during the 1990's and worked for several restaurants up and down the east coast. He loved the hustle and bustle, as well as the challenges of running the kitchen. Dennis is survived by his only son, Evan West, of New York City; his loving mother, Lucille; siblings: Douglas (Norma) West of Winter Garden, Florida, David (Debby) West of Loudonville, New York, and Deborah (Richard) West-Arnot of Milford, New York; as well as several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Dennis was predeceased by his father, William, and sister, Denise Marie West. Arrangements are in the care of Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. in Cortland, NY. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
