Oswaldo "Ozzie" Montalvo, 70, of Cortland passed away unexpectedly October 24, 2021. He was born October 2, 1951 in Puerto Rico the son of the late Santos and Nereida DelValle Montalvo. Ozzie did section work at JM Murray. He was well known in the Cortland community and was commonly called the Puerto Rican Santa. He liked to sit by the Port Watson Commons Apartment Complex. He would wave to everyone who passed by and would have conversations with all. Ozzie also always offered wise advice to whoever needed it. He was a great person, caring and lovable. He enjoyed coloring books and for sure loved Alvin and the chipmunks. Ozzie loved his family and his family loved him. Ozzie is survived by his children Oswald Montalvo, Stacey Ann Torres, a few grandchildren, and a new great granddaughter; his sisters Enid Montalvo, Malvis Montalvo, and Raisa Miranda; his goddaughter and caregiver Adeline Montalvo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings Santos Montalvo and Nereida Flores, as well as his close aunt, second mother, and lifelong caregiver Fidela Montalvo.
