Obituary of Kathy L. Vanderpoel

Kathy L. Vanderpoel, 61 of Homer passed away on November 2, 2021 at Cayuga Medical Center. She was born on December 20, 1959 in Cortland, NY a daughter of Warner and Janet Harman McKane. Kathy was employed for Voyant Beauty for over 30 years. During her time Kathy held many different positions but retired from a supervisor position. Kathy truly enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends. Most of all Kathy enjoyed planning her picnic every year so she could see all her family and friends enjoying themselves. Kathy is survived by her father, Warner McKane, two sons, Michael Galeotti, Jr, Joseph Galeotti, two brothers, Michael (Nancy) McKane, Bradley (Christine) McKane, two sisters, Tracey (Donald) Phillips, Shelly (Russell) Newman, 5 grandchildren, Paxton, Maddox, Natalie, Kiya, Madison Galeotti, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hour will be 10 AM – 12 PM Tuesday, at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Private burial in Glenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held in the spring.
