Obituary of Colin Reif

Colin Reif, 75, of Homer, NY passed away on Sunday December 26, 2021. He was born on November 1, 1946 in Cortland, NY. Colin enjoyed gardening, bingo, volunteering at Homer Senior Center, watching sports, and tracking team standings. He also loved visits with family and friends. A graduate of Homer Central High School in 1965, Colin went on to study at Auburn Community College in 1967 and concluded his formal education at Ithaca College in 1969. Colin was employed as an accountant for 43 years at the William George Agency for Children in Freeville, NY. Colin is survived by his wife of 31 years Kate Reif, his daughter Teri (Chris) Tarshus, his son Michael (Alexandra) Moon, his brothers John (Mary) Reif, and David (Barbara) Reif, his grandchildren Katie Keegan, Colin Moon, and Adelaide Moon, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Colin is predeceased by his parents William and Marian Reif, and his brother James Reif. Calling hours will be held on Friday December 31, 2021 from 11-1 at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Stephanie Brown officiating.
