Clifford L. Parkin Jr., 80, of Homer, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 9, 2022. He was born on July 16, 1941 in Cortland, NY. Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His hobbies included bowling and hunting. He was proud of his marriage to Elaine Barbara McGibbon Parkin of 58 years. He loved sports and was a fan of the Syracuse basketball and football team. He worked at Smith Corona until 1984 and then worked for New York State until his retirement at the age of 57. Clifford is survived by his 4 children Michael (Laura) Parkin, Daniel Parkin, Mark Parkin, and Corina (Christopher) Emery, his 9 grandchildren, his 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife Elaine Parkin, his parents Clifford and Mary Pace Parkin, and his siblings Robert Parkin and Loretta Beaumont. Calling hours will be held on Friday January 14, 2022 from 4-6pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Stephanie Brown officiating. The burial will be private and held at the Glenwood Cemetery.
