Noreen A. "Tootie" Boyce, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away January 21, 2022 at the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. She was the daughter of Howard and Doris Henry and is survived by her four children; Jackie (Jeff) Maxson, Howard (Renee) Boyce, Lynette (Stephen) Furlin, and Colleen (Jeff) Rynders; grandchildren Anthony and Justin Ladue, Jamie Boyce, Jenna and Joshua Maxson; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Tootie married Kenneth W. Boyce on July 30, 1960. She lived and worked in Cortland her entire life. She worked at the Thompson Boat Company, as a waitress at many local diners and restaurants, in the cafeteria at the McGraw Elementary School and for many years as the dietician and as a correction officer at the Cortland County Jail. Tootie enjoyed cooking. It truly was one of her great passions. After she retired from the jail, she volunteered at the Cortland Country Music Park, planning and cooking many of their dinners. She catered many wedding receptions and parties for family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward every year to the week spent together in the Adirondacks. She exemplified what kindness and caring truly meant. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; her parents, Doris and Howard Henry; and her sister, Donna.
