Obituary of Charles Drach

Charles Drach, 81, of Cortland, passed away on January 30, 2022 at the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. Charles was born on January 13, 1941 to his parents, the late Peter and Edna Drach. A long-time employee of UPS, Charles made his career there for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on Otisco Lake. He was truly a man who loved his family and liked to play cards in his spare time. He is survived by his children, Wendy (Thomas) Gilbert and Larry (Lisa) Drach; son-in-law Jeffrey Hodge, a sister Caryl Balskus; grandchildren Nicole (Dustin Sweeney) Gilbert, Michael (Lauren) Hodge, Connor Hodge, Matthew (Stephanie) Drach, and Kaitlyn (Daniel) Head; and great-grandchildren Elsie Hodge, Kaidance Head, Oliver Drach, Karter Head, plus three more on the way! He is also survived by his companion Joyce Landcastle. Charles was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Drach, daughter Sherri Hodge, father Peter Drach, granddaughter Lisa Gilbert, his stepmother Harriet Drach and brother-in-law Edward Balskus, Calling hours will be held this Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10am to 12pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral service will take place immediately following at 12pm at the Funeral Home.
