Obituary of Patricia M. O'Mara

Patricia M. O'Mara was called home to Heaven on February 2, 2022. She was born May 20, 1924, in Cortland NY, to Cornelius and Katherine Byrnes O'Mara. She was their first born and the last survivor of eight children. Patricia was very proud to say she graduated from St. Mary's School and was devout Catholic and communicant of St. Mary's church. Following high school, she went to work at the New York Telephone Company, working in Cortland, Rochester, and her greatest love California. She and her sister, Mary, were very close and both worked and lived together for their entire adult lives. When they retired, they returned to Cortland to be near family and friends. Patricia was a member of the phone company's Pioneer group. Patricia is survived by her Sister-In-Law, Beatrice O'Mara and her Brother-In-Law, Lawrence Mastin as well as several loving nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Katherine O'Mara, her brothers James, Joseph, and Edward (Gowena) O'Mara, and her sisters Mary O'Mara, Ann (Glenn) Stevens, Kathryn (Robert) Randall, Sheila Mastin, her nephews Daniel O'Mara and Stephen O'Mara, and her niece Donna Hires. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Patricia's late nephew Stephen O'Mara, his wife Kathie, and niece, Cindy, and her husband, Ed Ryan, for their loving care and devotion to our dear Aunt. We would also like to thank Peggy Perkins for her care and companionship during the last few years. There are no services at this time.
