Shelva-Jean (LaGier) Edwards-Cusson, 84, of Cortland, NY passed away on Saturday March 5, 2022. She was born on May 26, 1937 in Endicott, NY.
Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Jeanne dedicated much of her life to Veterans as a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW. She had been the Grand National President for the Military Order of the Cooties, whose motto is, "Keep them smiling in beds of white." With her good friend Joanie, she enjoyed dressing up as a clown and performing at area VA Hospitals. She was also active in the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Jeanne is survived by her children Jay Edwards, Tim (Hiromi) Edwards, Frenchy (Rhonda) Cusson, and Ken (Jenni) Cusson, Amy Jones, Eleanor Maas, her brother Douglas (Brigid) LaGier, her grandchildren Maggie, Matt, Merry, Abby, Alexandra, Kimberly, Tessy, Dillon, Derek, Aaron, Samantha. Trinity, Lyncoln, Ella-Anne, Mariko (Manuel), Adam (Dani), Chris (Sheena), Danny, Arisa (Tsutomu), Amy, Shayne, Angelica, Wesley, Kristina (Luis), and her great grandchildren Nolan, Landon, Naomi, Aria, Rio, Mei, Brantley, Jaxson, Kaylynn, Rhett, Rylee, Kayden, Khelsea, and Chayson, and many nieces and nephews whom will remember her fondly.
She is predeceased by her husband Henry C. Cusson, her parents Leroy and Achsa Struble LaGier, her daughter Penny Sadler, and her sisters Shirley (LaGier) Kelly and Kathleen (LaGier) Chamberlain.
Services will be held at a later date.
