Joshua R. Scovell, 35, of Cortland passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2022. He was born November 18, 1986 in Cortland NY. Joshua is survived by his Son Brayden and Daughter Lillyanna Scovell (Rose Bush); Mother Lisa Scovell (Chris Brown); Father Daniel Henry and Step Father Cornell Hathaway; His Sister Corlissia Hathaway, Nephew Marquise Price, Nieces Alesondra and Davena Hathaway. Aunts, Uncles and Many Cousins. Joshua is predeceased by his grandparents, Junior and Sandra Scovell, his Uncle Jack Watson Scovell and his cousin Brianna Copes. Joshua graduated from Cortland in 2004. He attended College at OCC and the University of Phoenix. Throughout his life Joshua worked in construction as a Laborer for Hammer and Nail Home Improvements, Ithaca Overhead Door, A Builder at Hope Lake Lodge, A Machinist for Forkey's Fabrication Co. and most recently as a Roofer for Apple Roofing Co. Joshua was Always the Life of the Party with the best Dance Moves and a Spirit larger than life. He deeply Loved his Children and Family with all he had. He was one of a kind and Always Loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed Cliff jumping, Hiking, taking trips with his family, Music and His style coordination was like no other. Joshua was Loved and Will Truly Be Missed by So Many. A celebration of Joshua's life will be held Friday, March 25th 12:30-1:30 at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. His Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer NY immediately Following the Services.
