Fayann Searfoss, 74, of Cortland, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022 at Hopsicare and Palliative Care Services of Ithaca. She was born on February 15, 1948 in Cortland to her parents, the late Cyril Finkelstein and Mary Berardi Finkelstein. Fayann made her career working at SUNY Cortland as a secretary in the Chemistry Department. Fayann was a member of the VFW Auxillary, Eagles Club, the DAV, and the Willowbrook Golf Club. She enjoyed spending time at the Golf Course with her husband Rocky; they were together for 51 years. She enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas and was an avid bowler. Fayann is survived by her husband Leo "Rocky" Searfoss; her daughter Melissa (Bridget Law) Searfoss; her brother in-law Ernest "Sparky" Searfoss, sister-in-law Karen (Mike) Sheridan, nieces and nephews, Jenna (Jeremy Spuhler) Finkelstein, Andrew (Janay Walker) Dawson, Bill Crane, Ann (George) Sheridan-Angle, Mike (Sarah) Sheridan, Katie (Tim) Sheridan-Finnerty, and Jeff (Katie) Sheridan. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Sanford Finkelstein; her father and mother-in-law Leo Searfoss and Juanita Bruce Searfoss; and her niece Lisa Crane. Calling Hours will be on Saturday from 4 to 8pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. The burial will be taking place at Temple Brith Solom Cemetery.
