Obituary of Josephine Ogden

Josephine "Sis" Ogden of Homer, NY passed away on May 15, 2022, at the age of 87. Sis was born on September 28, 1934, in Cortland, NY, the daughter of Ralph Ryan and Josephine Connors Ryan. She graduated from Homer High School in 1953. Following her graduation, Sis was employed at SUNY Cortland as a secretary for 37 years. She was an active member of St. Margaret's church in Homer as well as St. Mary's in Cortland. Sis was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a lifelong resident of Homer who loved to travel extensively. She will be remembered fondly by her family for her warm and giving spirit. Sis was the first person to always offer a helping hand and assist anyone in need. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years Clarence "Harry" Ogden, her brothers Ralph Ryan, Patrick Ryan, Richard Ryan, Robert Ryan, and her sister Vivian Coots. Sis is survived by her sister Helen (Patrick) Lynch of Ireland as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Friday at St. Mary's Church, burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. A prayer service held at 10:30 AM Friday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery.
