Obituary of Archie Coon

Archie Coon, 80, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday May 15, 2022. He was born March 10, 1942 in DeRuyter, NY, the son of the late Gordon and Izora Gross Coon. Archie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a hard worker his entire life. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, collecting baseball cards, and he liked old cars. Archie is survived by his loving wife Sheila Coon, his children Scott (Helen) Coon and Daniel (Sherry) Coon, his sisters Shirley (Larry) Mudge and Beverly (Tom) Sullivan, his grandchildren Nicole Taylor, Danielle Coon, Ashley Coon, Desirae Coon, Daniel Ross Coon, Katie Coon, Dustin Coon, and Cody Coon, and his great grandchildren Brandon Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Winry day, Emma Coon, Rayleigh Coon, and Lilliana Coon. In addition to his parents, Archie is predeceased by his siblings George Coon, Jr. Coon, and Joyce Bowman. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at 11am at the United Methodist Church, 30 Homer Ave., Cortland, NY. A luncheon will follow at the church, all are welcome to bring a dish to pass.
