You and mom weren't legally married but in every sense you were like a step dad, a grandfather and great grandfather. You always enjoyed the cookouts and baking with mom,and bingo. Thank you for taking such good care of my mom. When we'd pick on each other I'd look at you and say go to your room John. Mom would say no don't send him to his room he has too many luxuries there, send him to the basement. Well now God has a room for you in Heaven, so one last time I say go to your room John, go rest is peace.

You left so quickly Cousin John. How we would have loved one more hug! There is never enough time, but we have countless precious memories. I remember how much you loved country music and the country music hall in Cortland. And you took such good care of Wilma, and took her to see the great Charley Pride among others. We all went with you to see Lee Greenwood and that was a very patriotic performance. It reminded me of your proud service to our country and all the stories about Fort Ord. I remember you going to the Indy 500, the State Fair, bowling, bingo and football games. I always felt your love and sometimes it seemed like I was a big sister (even though you were a little older than me). I remember the fun and laughs when I taught you to ride a motorcycle on my little Honda. And you went on to get a big and beautiful machine of your own. You were so much a part of my beginning, my roots and my family. I picture all the fun we had together with your mom, Aunt Dorothy, my dad, Bob and you! I thank the Lord for our visit last October. You were kind, gentle-spoken, and not reluctant to let those you loved know how much you cared. And your tender love for animals (and I believe we inherited this from our grandfather) was a reflection of the kindness in your heart. Lori, Heather, Evelyn and I send our love to Wilma and the family. You will never be forgotten and always missed.

I will miss John; our baseball talks at bingo. So enjoyed being with him and Wilma. A nice, kind man.
