GLENN L. FIDLER, JR. (Pops) passed away peacefully at Cedar Run Nursing Home, Cortland, NY, on September 2, 2022 following an extended battle with Alzheimer's/Dementia, at the age of 86. He was born January 8, 1936 to Glenn L. Fidler, Sr. and Anna Mary Shue (Fidler) Smith. Pops was a hard working happy soul who was employed as a custodian at Cortland Senior High School for 35 years. Pops was known around town by everyone. He rode his bicycle to and from work and all over town for years and never complained about not having a vehicle. He was kind and would help anyone in need by shoveling snow, raking leaves or running errands. He loved being the life of the party, always smiling and cackling. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to PA during the summer to visit relatives and camping. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, taking photos and cheering for the Baltimore Orioles and Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his children, Yolanda Bishop, Christal (R. Mark) Martin and Joseph (Rachelle) Fidler, grandchildren, Zachary (Ivana) Bishop, Noah (Carolyn) Bishop, Benjamin Martin, Aaron Fidler, Gabriel Fidler, Kirstie Fidler, Jacob Fidler, Cameron Fidler, and great-granddaughter, Harper Lily Bishop. He's also survived by brothers Darwin (Smitty) Smith, Dr. John M. Fidler and sister, Susan (Fidler) Williams. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, wife, Sylvia, twin brother, Kenneth R. Fidler, brother, James P. Smith, and son, Gerald F. Fidler. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 30, 2022 at Wright Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland, NY, from 6 pm to 7 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date at Burial will be at Benders Union Cemetery, 1385 Rentzel Road, Biglerville, PA.
