Q: What will you never forget about Virgilia?
A: My favourite cousin. Every time my mom had a child, Aunt Lucy and Uncle Mario , Jill’s mom and dad, I would spend days on Lake Ave with the Izzo’s. We had fun times together
There. Between the DiLella’s and Izzo’s , no shortage of kids.
Can’t believe I find out through the organization of a 2025 Mt Carmel reunion that she had passed. Her warmth, smile an energy was amazing.
Now with our Lord, I’m sure she is one of the best angels.
Always in my heart and mind, my cousin Jill

I was so sorry to read of Jill's passing. I have so many memories of her as one of my most delightful and energetic high school classmates - just a bundle of fun - and I'm sure she was loved and admired by many others. She will not be forgotten. My sincere condolences to her family.

Didn’t we all think energetic Jill Izzo would be like Peter Pan—flying out all over the football/basketball fields CHEERLEADING—never die??? But her Mt. Carmel (no longer) kid BFF Sue Hemingway knows Jill IS now up in Heaven— where she is probably still flirting with the Carmelite priest she had such a crush on, Fr. Coleman!) Wonder if Jill ever taught him how to dance?!

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jill. She was an icon in our community, and had such an impact on the lives of her students and their families. She always strived for her students to be the best they could possibly be, and instilled on them the value of hard work and dedication in reaching their goals. Her attitude of “having a positive attitude” and “loving what you do” was contagious, and she helped her students to not only become excellent dancers, but outstanding people. She was understanding, kind, patient, thorough, and a quality teacher/ person, and definitely a positive role model to others. She will be missed, but her ethics and legacy will remain in the Cortland community. My condolences to you, your family, and those who loved her.

Dear Jim and Family,
My family has wonderful memories of your beautiful Jill. She touched the Davis family in many ways, and I can close my eyes and see her dancing "Thriller" on stage with her students. She was a fireball. We watched you build a great life with kids and grandkids. She will always have a special place in our hearts. I know that Harry and Leona welcome her with open arms.
Peace and Love

Jill was one of the first people who taught me the love of dance. Though it has been a long time since I've danced with her, I am so grateful for her positive influence on my life, and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to friends and family and all those who were touched by her.

I am one of the MANY who was lucky enough to take dance classes with Jill. The classes were decades ago at this point, but I still have positive vivid memories of them and of Jill. Jill had a bright smile and made dance classes so joyful. Both her and her classes were a gift to so many.
My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. I'm sure she's dancing with the angels.
