Nina Simpson, 75, of Cortland, passed away December 9, 2011 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born December 27, 1935 in West Virginia , the daughter of the late French and Portia Mayle Dalton. She was raised and educated in Philippi, West Virginia. Mrs. Simpson resided in the Owego for over twenty five years, then Norwich for over eighteen years, and has resided in Cortland for the past year. While living in Owego, she was employed with Owego Day Care and was Director of the Friendship Inn Adult Day Care Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church activities. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 yrs Rev. Kenneth Simpson of Cortland NY, daughters Shelley (Arthur) Green of Saugerties NY, Robyn (Robert) George of Ellicottville NY, Sherlyn (Gary) Pallassino of Cortland NY, son Christopher (Jennifer) Simpson of Owego NY, brother Gary (Kaye) Dalton of Norwich NY, eight grandchildren Christina and Stephanie Simpson, Michael, Alexandra, and Rachel Pallassino, Katelyn, Brian, and Dylan Simpson, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nina was predeceased by her infant daughter Laraine and son Stephen who passed away in 2006. Calling hours will be Monday 4-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 am at Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring in South New Berlin, NY. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Flood Relief, 228 Main St. Owego, NY 13827
