Obituary of Elna Stafford

Elna R. Stafford, 102, of Solon, NY passed on Monday November 7th, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1920 in McGraw, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur (Reta Coates) Thornton. Elna spent her entire life in Solon, NY. Upon graduation from McGraw High School in 1936, she married Theodore Stafford and they had four children. Elna was a devoted farmer’s wife and enjoyed the hard work that came with farming. She loved working for her family’s dairy farm. On the side, her and her family also produced Stafford’s Maple Products. In her free time, Elna enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time with her family. She also loved her church, where she served as a Charter Member of Bible Baptist Church for over 60 years. Elna is survived by her son John Stafford, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Theodore Stafford, her children Annice (Russell), Sharon, and Roger (Beverly). A calling hour will be held Saturday November 12, 2022 from 11am-12pm at the Bible Baptist Church, 15 West Road, Cortland, NY. A funeral service to follow at 12pm. Burial will be held Monday November 14, 2022 at 10am in The McGraw Rural Cemetery. She is grateful to faithful friends and family who provided contacts and assistance while living out her life.
