Obituary of Sandra J. Thomas

Sandra J. Thomas, 84, of Cortland passed away December 4, 2022 at the Cortland Guthrie Medical Center. She was born April 13, 1938 daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret Van Patten Hay. Sandra was a longtime resident of the Cortland/McGraw area graduating from Cortland High School in 1956. After high school she was employed with McNeil Music and then the Cortland Savings Bank where she retired. Sandra was a member of the McGrawville Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed the Christmas season year round and caring for her cats. Predeceased are her parents, Brothers William and Donald. She is survived by her brother LeRoy (Laurie) Hay, her sister in laws Susan Hay, Jeannette McLean, and Beverly Bilodeau, many nieces, nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call Friday December 9, 12:30 pm -1:00 pm with a funeral service to begin 1:00 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045 with Rev. Fran Cochran presiding. Burial will follow next to her late husband William Thomas at the McGrawville Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to the McGrawville Baptist Church or the Cortland SPCA.
