Obituary of William F. Dutton

William "Bill" Foster Dutton, 81, of Cortland passed away December 29, 2022. He was born March 17, 1941 in Cortland son of the late Floyd and Martha Dutton. Bill lived locally and resided at various group homes with the Madison-Cortland ARC. Over the years he worked at BOCES and then JM Murray Center retiring in 2019. Following his retirement he attended the ADHC program at the Cortland Hospital. Bill enjoyed fishing, collecting hats, watching baseball, country drives, country music especially Johnny Cash and Elvis. His house family will remember him for his charismatic charm, his affection for pretty blonde ladies, and him enjoying his "smokies", and his smile. He is survived by his ARC family and staff, his brother Bernard Dutton, and sister in law Sandra Dutton of Oneida. In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by his brother Leroy Dutton. A calling hour will be held Thursday 1-2 pm with a funeral to begin 2 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Spring burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery, Preble NY.
