Beverly J. Horner, 75 of Cortland passed away on March 17, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1947 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Frank and Irene French Potter. She grew up with her siblings on the Potter Farm on Maybury Road in the Town of Solon. With her husband, she bowled on a league for many years. Beverly was happily employed by Pall Trinity for 38 years. In her retirement she enjoyed camping with family and friends, she attended Watkins Glen NASCAR race yearly, she enjoyed going blackberry picking with her husband and their chocolate lab, Hoss. Beverly is survived by her sons, Brian Shutts, Bradley Shutts, and daughter Diane (Keith) Kelsey; brothers, Ray (Lori) Potter, Russell (Connie) Potter, sister Virginia York, and Betty (Henry) Henson; grandchildren Tony, Deziray (Kyle), Kaitlyn (Jay), Kayla, and Chelsea; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Beverly is predeceased by her husband, Richard Horner, siblings Gordon (Renate) Willsey, Florence Morris, Catherine (Ralph) Bishop, Delores (Michael) Griffith, James (Louise) Potter, and Medora Sally (Russell) White. Calling hours will be 11:00AM – 12:00 PM Friday, March 24 at Wright- Beard Funeral Home, Inc. with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers consider donating in her name to Hospice Care Services, 172 East King Road Ithaca, NY 14850.
