Q: Did Thomas have any pets?
A: Tom had a big gold fish that he loved. He fed his fish garlic and said it keeps him healthy. One day he found the fish floating upside down.. It has died. Tom got his fish and performed mouth to mouth resusatation on it. If I hadn't been there to see it, I would not have believed it...but he revived that fish and it lived for about four more years.

Q: How did you meet Thomas?
A: I was there with Tom and Shelley at the beginning of their special bonding friendship during the late 70's. In fact, I was privileged to hold both of their hands in mine and pray for God's blessings upon their lives together. Tom was an incredibly handsome young man, and Shelley Daniels herself a beautiful young lady. When Shelly conceived their child, Sandra and I were so excited, and even spoke of how beautiful their child must be. And baby Kim was all that and more with striking black curls crowning one of the most beautiful babies ever. However, as the months slipped by and baby Kim was nearing her 1st year, I suddenly received a frightening call that she became very ill and was rushed to Syracuse Children's Hospital. As quickly as possible I made my way from Cortland to the hospital to meet with Tom and Shelley. I gathered them in my arms and prayed while we all wept together. Sad to say though, we were all stunned to hear reports that baby Kim was in grave condition and Doctors couldn't provide much hope for recovery. I so recall standing there in that hospital room and watching as doctors and nurses gathered around a beautiful, ashen=white, silent tiny angel while performing tests and receiving reports about the baby's condition. The following Sunday morning during the beginning of our Church service, I shared the sad news of Kim to our congregation. We all loved baby Kim and Tom and Shelly. And something about the sudden news that morning (because most folks hadn't heard of Kim's illness), I stood there amazed as I began to hear tearful praying quietly spreading throughout the congregation. They lifted Baby Kim in prayer up to Heaven, seeking God's merciful intervention. The phone rang that afternoon while at our dinner table with a message from the hospital that Baby Kim woke from her comma. Again, I made my way to the hospital, but this time to only find a perfect, fully responsive, fully recovered, and beautiful child. Baby Kim was moved out of CCCU the next day, and soon that week she was released from the hospital completely well. I know unto this very day that God saw the tears and heard the prayers of Daddy Tom and Mommy Shelly, along with prayerful hearts of those that love them. God Cares. I pray for peace and comfort for Kim and all of her family. (Rev. Paul Fowler
