Obituary of Paula Pickert

After a brief illness, Paula Pickert, 75, of McGraw, NY, passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 7, 1947, in Cortland, NY.
Paula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life. She took pride in helping the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids when they needed clothing sewed, and she didn’t miss any sporting events. In her free time, Paula enjoyed swimming and going to the Turning Stone Casino. Her and her husband Robert supported the community doing volunteer work for the Office of the Aging. She was a dedicated employee of the Cortland County DSS office, where she was an accountant for 20 years.
Paula is survived by her husband Robert Pickert of 56 years, her children Becky (Lewis) Vanwagenen, Tammy (Barbara Sanders) Pickert, Margie (Rich) Whittington, and Eddie (Cheryl) Pickert, her siblings Roland (Jeanette) Teichert, Terry (Mark) Mullen, Patricia Carver, and Maria Coville, her grandchildren Collin, Chris, Antonio, Macayla, Jade, Samantha, Serena, and her great grandchildren Novi, Anastasia, Hudson, baby Cooper, Liam, Landon, Kayden, and Drew.
She is predeceased by her parents Paul and Eva Clark Teichert, and her sister Karen Woodard.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2023 from 10-12 at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12. Burial will take place in the McGraw Cemetery immediately after.
