Obituary of Gary E. Fox

Gary E. Fox, 81, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Sunday March 19, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1941, in Cortland, NY. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Gary enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1958-1962. He was a member of Tex Roe and the Nashville Sounds and the New Nashville Sounds and played drums in various bands throughout New York and the Midwest. Gary was owner and operator of H. Fox & Son Upholstery for 40 plus years. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, his bowling leagues, Nascar, the Buffalo Bills, country music, family vacations to the St. Lawrence River and many road trips to Nebraska to visit in-laws. Gary is survived by his wife Donna, his four children Gary E. Fox II (Lauretta) of Homer, James W. Fox (Juliet) of CA, Monica J. Fish(Jon) of McGraw, and R. Jason Fox (Andrea) of Binghamton, his grandchildren Brent Fox of Homer; Eli, Taylor, and Jake Fox of CA; Dylan Beaumont (Whitney) and Devin Beaumont (Ashley) of Myrtle Beach; Alexis Fox of Marathon, Axel and Averi Fox of Binghamton; sister Diana Cook; friend Lorraine Fox; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents Earl H. and Dorothy (Maricle) Fox and brother-in-law Douglas P. Cook. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
