Obituary of Gary Smith

Gary D. Smith, 64, of Groton, NY, lost his battle to cancer surrounded by family and loved ones Friday April 21st, 2023. Gary, born to Nial and Norma Smith on January 17th, 1959, grew up in Groton, NY. Gary graduated from Dryden High School in 1977 and then attended Circleville Bible College. Being an integral part of the family-owned dairy farm is where his passion for agriculture, construction and wood-working began and continued to grow throughout the years. When Gary wasn't hard at work, you could find him helping on the family farm, tinkering on many projects, tending to his livestock or enjoying the produce from his expansive garden. Gary was predeceased by his father Nial S. Smith (88). Gary is survived by his mother, Norma Smith, his brothers Kevin (Kimberly) and Ron (Kelly) Smith, his sons Devon (Holly), Jonathan (Michelle) and Zachary (Kendra) Smith, his two grandsons Rhett and Kade Smith (Zachary and Kendra), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance service at Dresserville Bible Baptist Church, 6339 Crofoot Road, Moravia, NY 13118, Saturday April 29th at 11am followed by refreshments.
