Joseph E. DeMann, 63, of Cortland New York passed away on July 13th, 2023, unexpectedly after a short, hard fought battle with leukemia. Joe was born in Johnson City, New York, a son of Stephen and Virginia DeMann. Most recently, Joe spent time employed with Osborne's Floor Covering. Throughout Joe's life he was also well known for his truck driving and auto diesel mechanical abilities while employed through Alnye, Cortland Bulk, and other various places throughout the years. Joe was a Hall of Fame member for the Seven Valley Pool League. Throughout the years some of Joe's favorite past activities were hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, and playing pool. He truly loved making people laugh, telling stories around the campfire, and spending time with the people that meant the most to him, his family and friends. Joe is survived by his significant other, Valerie Keib; his children, Jeremy (Amanda) DeMann, and Staci (Ed) Lubinsky; his step daughter, Tonya (David Jr.) Teeter; his grandchildren, Tanner and Brenna Lubinsky, Mason (Sabrina) Kneedler, Jesse and Kristi Walley, Elijah and Gabriel Teeter; his great-grandchildren, Keegan, Cedrick, and Aria Kneedler; his brother, Jeffery (Mary) DeMann; his nephews, Derrick and Ryan DeMann; his nieces, Rachel (Tyler) Malmburg and Morgan (Seth) Gustafson; and several great-nephews, nieces and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his brother, Stephen DeMann Jr. Services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd , 2023 at 12pm at the Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 1250 Fisher Ave., Cortland, NY 13045. A celebration of life will be held at Night Owls (Polkville), 3840 US Route 11, Cortland in Cortland following the service. Donations in Joseph's name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
