Obituary of Jacqueline J. Osuna

Jacqueline (Jackie) J. Osuna, 79, of Cincinnatus, New York, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on July 26, 2023, at Upstate University Hospital. She was born on September 23, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. Jackie moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 16. She eloped with her loving husband Alfred Osuna in 1963. She spent her career as a medical transcriptionist, where she spent over 40 years as an independent contractor. Jackie and Tito retired in 2000, then moved to the Cortland area from Brentwood, NY. In her free time, she could be found crocheting and reading. She loved to dance and was described as the life of the party by those who knew her. Jackie was also the backbone of the family. From a young age, she raised her husband’s nine younger siblings after the death of his mother. She is survived by her children, Alfredo Osuna IV, Caryl Osuna-Simmons, and Raquel Osuna; her dear friend whom she considered a third daughter, Lorelei Rosario; grandchildren Jaqueline C. Osuna, Alyssa Osuna-Hannay, Rheanna J. Bates, Angelique R. Simmons, Donald J. Sampson, and Danaizha C. Sampson; and great-grandson Donatello J. Sampson. As well has many nieces and nephews. Jackie was predeceased by her husband Alfred “Tito” Osuna. Friends and family can call at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045 from 4 to 6 PM on Thursday, August 3. The funeral service will take place on Friday, August 4, 10 AM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cortland following the service.
