Obituary of Caddie Parker

Caddie Fitts Parker, 76, of Cortland, passed away on July 29, 2023, at the Cortland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on January 2, 1947 in Cortland, to her parents the late Morris Calvert Fitts and Iona Leach Fitts. A graduate of Union College in Kentucky, Caddie went on to begin her career in banking at First National Bank of Cortland and stayed through various bank changes until her retirement from NBT Bank. Caddie was an exceptional quiltmaker, regularly diligently working on hand sewn quilts. She greatly enjoyed taking trips with her brother George and his wife to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She especially enjoyed the trips where she was able to see Barry Manilow in concert.
Caddie is survived by her son Matthew Calvert Parker; brothers George (Sandy) Fitts and Calvert Fitts; her sister Kristina (Robert) Hoppe; her grandchild Avery Iona Parker; her nieces and nephews Zachary, Charlotte, and Emma Hoppe; and Jeffrey and Trisha Fitts; as wells her great niece and nephew Eliana and Jonathan Fitts.
In addition to her parents Caddie is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Parker, who she is reunited with after 31 years, and her great-nephew Mitchell Fitts.
Calling hours will take place on Friday from 12:30pm to 2pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. with a service to begin at 2pm. Burial will follow at the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
