Obituary of Donald Dunn

Donald E. Dunn, 86, of Scott, NY, passed away on September 7th, 2023 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. Don was born September 22, 1936 in Seven Bridges, PA, a son of the late Donald Robert and Pruella Edith Toombs Dunn. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie A. (DuMond) and his children Donald (Tammy) Dunn and Susan Dunn (Chris Sheppard). He was a proud grandpa to Siera (Tim) Underwood and Gavin Dunn and great- grandpa to Yvonne Cree-Dunn, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.Don is survived by four brothers, Larry Dunn, John Dunn, Robert Dunn, and Roy (Rhonda) Dunn and two sisters Irene Brown and Janet Button. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five sisters Esther Vera Dunn, Carol Babbitt, Christine Ann Dunn, Mary E. Gardner, Ruth E. Close, one great grandson Gavin Jr. Cree-Dunn, three brothers-in-law William Gardner Jr., Joe Brown, James Close, two sisters-in-law Candy Dunn, Honey Dunn, and three nephews Chris Dunn, William Gardner Jr., and Charles Gardner. For 28 years Don was employed by Pall Trinity Corporation in Cortland, NY. After retirement he was self-employed in lawncare work for many years. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and spending time at the Senior Club of Scott, NY. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Scott United Methodist Church In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s name can be made to the Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at the Scott United Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 1:00pm and services starting at 2:00pm.
