Obituary of Paul E. Benjamin

Paul E. Benjamin, 93, a Cortland resident, passed away Dec. 2, 2023. Born February 7, 1930 his formative years were in Port Dickinson. He was a graduate of Binghamton North and Harpur College, with an accounting degree.
His career began at Ansco, after which he and his wife , Nancy (Remmele) moved their family to Cortland to work as a comptroller for 29 years with Brewer-Titchener. He then worked for Wilkins Co. and Tallmadge Tire, in a similar capacity. Paul was actively involved in supporting the Cortland Community in various capacities These included being a member of the Hospital board, and holding the position of Church Treasurer for many years. Once retired, Paul worked part-time at Elm Tree Golf Course.
With passion for music, Paul created a high school dance band and was a soloist for Port Dickinson Baptist Church and Cortland United Presbyterian Church where he was an active choir member. He took pride in his yard work and found fun in bowling, fishing, golfing, and playing pool with his friends.
Paul is survived by his four children, David (Nancy) Benjamin, Debra Ladd, Brenda Gaddy and Bonnie (Royce) Allen; six grandchildren Amy, Lindsay, and Darcy Stahl, Brooke Benjamin, Morgan (Mike) Miceli, Owen Ladd; great grandchildren Brianna, Lily, Oliver and Juniper; sister Barbara McGowan; sister-in-law, Judy (John) Restino; and companion Marilyn Evans.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his brother Duane, son-in-law Charles, and grandchild Forrest.
Calling Hours to be held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Sunday 12/10 from 2 to 4pm. Funeral Services will be at the United Presbyterian Church on Monday 12/11 at 10am.
