Willis (Bill) Tollner, 88, of Cortland passed away December 18, 2023, after a life well lived. Bill was born in Fort Johnson, NY on June 26, 1935. Bill married his high school crush Frances Bujanowski June 18, 1955. They spent the next 66 years of their lives raising a loving family. Bill was a man of great integrity and compassion. He worked for Brockway Motors in Cortland until the company closed. He retired from Carrier Corporation in Syracuse after many years braving the weather on his commute to provide for his family, his true calling. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Family was everything to him. He welcomed all into his home with kindness and warmth. Bill is survived by his wife Frances, his daughter Amy (Dennis) Wells, his son Willis (Annette), his daughter Mindy Natale and his son Wesley (Abby). His grandchildren Amber (Craig), Ben, Zack (Heather), Ashley, Alle, Tom, Chelsea, and Cassie. His great grandchildren Madison and Connor. Bill will be sadly missed but remembered fondly each passing day. A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 21 at 2:00 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Friends are invited to call 12:00-2:00pm prior to the funeral service. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
