Gerald "Jerry" Gailor, 77, of Cortland, NY passed away at home on Sunday December 31, 2023 after a 5-
year battle with cancer. He was born on February 21, 1946, the son of the late Robert W. and Arlene
Dellow Gailor.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved
hunting, fishing, and boating. Jerry took great pride serving his country in the United States Navy during

aboard aircraft carriers. He was a dedicated member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 377.
In 2009 — 40 years after Jerry served — his squadron (VA 86) started biannual reunions at different
cities along the East coast of the U.S. Jerry was fortunate to attend all of those up until 2021. He was
also a member of the American Legion.
Jerry's family would like to thank Dr. DiGiovanna, the many physicians and staff in the Upstate System,
Guthrie physical therapy, and most recently all the wonderful staff at Hospicare.

Gailor and Donald (Jennifer Rehberg) Gailor, his sisters-in-law Donna Gailor and Carole (Paul Wittjung)
