Obituary of Ronald Watkins

Ronald J. Watkins (Ron), age 73, Brooktondale, NY, went home to the Lord on January 13, 2024, at Crown Plaza Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born on October 31, 1950, to the late Roger and Helen (Czerenda) Watkins. His children survive Ron: Niki Watkins of Cortland, Joshua Webster of Brooktondale, and grandchildren, Brook, Kassidy, and Maverick. In addition, his sister, Connie Bulger (Don Porteus), of Brooktondale, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many long-time friends. Ron graduated from Ithaca High School in 1969, having played Baseball; he was a Boy Scout in his adolescent years and worked as an Arborist for many years in adulthood. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, slow-pitch, and horseshoe player. He was a gatherer of treasures he shared lovingly with family and friends. The family would like to thank the Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center staff for their compassionate care of Ron in his last days. A celebration of life in Ronald's honor will be announced to take place in the upcoming summer months.
