Obituary of Tharis "Terry" A. Holcomb

Tharis A. "Terry" Holcomb, 82, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday April 21, 2024. She was born on November 24, 1941 the daughter of the late Leonard and Minda Brown. Terry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Above all, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Terry's hobbies included crafts, painting, reading, gardening, feeding the squirrels and backyard critter, and collecting China pieces and figurines. Terry was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Homer Highschool. She had great work ethic and took pride in her jobs. She worked at Smith Corona for 35 years as a secretary, overseeing manufacturing and receiving, prior to working at Walmart as a cashier. Terry is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Jessica) Holcomb and Daniel (Christina Seager), her siblings Gordon Brown, John (Vickie) Brown, Maissie Moore, Mary Lee Fey, Sharon Brown, and Virginia (Richard) Karpenko, her grandchildren Ashlynn, David, and Johnathan, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Charles Holcomb, and her aunt and uncle Lena and Sidney Burrows. Calling hours will be held on Monday April 29, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12.
