Obituary of Bruce Gilbert

Bruce Gilbert, 67, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday May 26, 2024. He was born on November 28, 1956, the son of the late Roland and Marion Gilbert. Bruce was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Bruce retired from Tops/Grand Union where he worked for 49 years. He enjoyed bowling, and anything sports related. He loved Syracuse basketball and football, the New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. In his free time, he loved visiting Disney World. He loved being around people and having a good time. Bruce is survived by his brothers Terry (Junko) Gilbert, Rick (Debby) Gilbert and, his brother-in-law Rich Ryan, many nieces and nephews, and close friend Sue Root. In addition to his parents, Bruce is predeceased by his sister Jane Ryan. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6-8pm at the Wright-beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A graveside committal service will take place on Friday June 14, 2024 at 2:30pm, at the East Homer Cemetery, 2621-2601, NY-13, East Homer, NY.
