Iva Knupp, 95, of Stamford, NY, formerly of Cortland, passed away on Monday June 3, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Marguerite Schwillie Young. Iva was a loving daughter, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was born in Delhi, NY where she was a dedicated member of the Oneida Community for 15 years. In 1962, she started working in Cortland as a sewing machine operator at Cresent Corset. Iva was a lifelong member of the 1012 Cortland Women of the Moose, and 272 Oneida Loyal Order of Moose. She took pride in her membership with the First Baptist Church of Cortland. She passed away in the loving care of her cousin Wayne and his fiancé Catherine, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Iva is survived by her cousin Wayne (Catherine) Lewis, her loving niece Jody L. Sheldon, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Charles Young and Andrew T. Sheldon. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2024 from 11am-1pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.
