Robert James Givens, 72 born October 16, 1951 in Elmira, NY. The son of late Frank Jr. and Lula Givens. Robert passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cortland, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Paternal Birth father Horace Larkins.
He is survived by his Maternal Birth mother, Mattie L. Ward. Brothers: Edward (Nell) Givens, Anthony Ward of Elmira. Sisters: Francine (Cyril) Stephens, Dorothea Ward, Carmela Ward, Yolanda Ward of Elmira. Special Friend: Pastor Ronald Benson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Robert lived most of his life in Ithaca, NY He graduated from Elmira Free Academy High School and later went on to study at Elmira College and Cornell University studying Fine Arts Education. He had many hobbies: cooking, traveling, shopping, dancing, fine arts and listening to gospel music. Robert loved to be involved in social gatherings.
At the request of Robert, there will be no funeral service.
