Obituary of Ray Kinney

Ray Kinney, 23, of Cortland, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 30, 2024. He was born on March 30, 2001, in Cortland, NY. Ray was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Above all, Ray loved being a father to his son Levi. He was kind and helpful, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Ray was hard working and took pride in his job. In his free time, Ray loved gaming and fishing. He was the ultimate gamer and loved playing his play station. He will be greatly missed by those who love him. Ray is survived by his son Levi Kinney, his mother Heidi (Lester) Harman, his father Christopher King, his son's mother Mckayla Stone, his siblings Nicholas (Christina) Kinney, Elizabeth (Justin) Kinney, Trey Harman, Trenton Harman, Seth Harman, and Kaleb Harman, his great grandma Audrey Haynes, his grandparents Kathy King and Ed King, his aunts Renee (Don) Kinney and Terri (Vince) Weaver, his uncles Chris (Nancy) Haynes and Daniel (Sue) Haynes, his cousin Krysta Earle, his nieces Aaliyah Bowman and Myliah Soukhaphonh, and his nephews Anthony Bowman and Keaton Kalman. Ray is predeceased by his grandparents Deborah Kinney, Ray Kinney, and his Grandma Contento. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 8, 2024 from 10am-1pm, at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Virgil Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Cortland DAV, 91 Owego St., Cortland, NY following the service at cemetery.
