Obituary of Francis Miles

Francis C. Miles, 82, a long-time resident of Spafford, NY passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, in Syracuse, NY. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Francis T. and Emma Kilmer Miles. Francis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle who cherished his family and enjoyed socializing with everyone he met. He worked at Hanson as a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years. Francis is survived by his sons: Jason (April) of Spafford, NY; David (Angie) of Bellville, TX; Dan (Sarah) of Barboursville, WV; William of Elbridge, NY; and daughter Christine Menzer of Oviedo, FL; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Francis was predeceased by his first wife of 32 years, Donna; his second wife of 5 years, Peggy; his daughter, Wendy; his sister, Nancy; and his brother, Edward. There will be a graveside burial service at Spafford Cemetery on August 10th at 11am. A celebration of life will follow at the Spafford Fire Department.
