Rev Kenneth Harry Lane passed away on August 5. He was loved dearly by his wife Arlene J. Lane, two sons, Kenneth R. Lane, James W. Lane, two daughter-in-laws, Mary Jean Lane and Melanie Lane, and five grandsons, Devon R. Lane, Brandon T. Lane, James W. Lane, Alex J. Lane, and Austin E. Lane. Kenneth was born in So. Ozone Park in Queens, NY and came to the Cortland area in 1974 and resided in Homer, Freetown, and Marathon. Kenneth served in the US Navy and his tour of duty was to the Artic and Antarctica on ice expeditions. Ken worked in Grummans, Bathpage, N.Y. and photographed the Lem Modular which was used for the first spacecraft to land on the moon. He also headed up a team for photographing the first SR71 top secret reconnaissance plane. Ken was founder and photographer for Lane Photographic Studio in Homer, NY for 20 years. He was also a founder and Senior Pastor for The Church at Freetown, NY for 16years, Assistant Chaplain of Cortland County Jail, president of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International and president of the Evangelical Minister's Association. Ken was also a facilitator of Cortland Council of Churches, Grief Support Groups, and Director of United Couples Marriage Ministries. He was on the board of directors of the Evangelical Minister's Association sponsoring committee for MICAH and president of International Change Philippians Missions. Ken will be truly missed by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched. Arrangements of a Celebration of Life Meeting will be on September 7, 2024 at 11am at the Christian Assembly of God with Paster Nathanial Wright officiating.
