Obituary of Eleanor M. Dutcher

Eleanor "Ellie" Dutcher, 87, passed away August 11, 2024 at home with family by her
side. She was born June 12, 1937 in Cortland.
Ellie was a lifelong resident of the area. She had been employed at Smith Corona, Pall
Trinity, Johnny's Drive In Diner, a Playground Aide at Cassavant School, and had sold
AVON for over thirty years. Ellie was an avid bowler at Cort-Lanes and was inducted
into the Cortland Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also a keen Insulator Collector. Ellie
and her late husband Morace traveled the country buying and selling Insulators and
collectables. Ellie also enjoyed her volunteer time at the CNY Living History Center.
Ellie is survived by her daughters Donna Eccleston of Cortland, Denise (David) Fox of
Freeville, NY, her sons Richard (Lisa) Wells of Elma, NY, David Dutcher of Amarillo, TX,Clifton (Laurie) Dutcher of Cortland, NY, David Wells of Rockwell, NC and brother Charles Riggs of Homer, NY; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friend Linda Radley.
She was predeceased by her parents Calvin and Dorothy Riggs, husband Morace
Dutcher, daughter Shelly Ann Wells along with her siblings Dorothy Lang, Judith
Jacque, Patricia Herrin-Pugh, son-in-law Donald Eccleston, 1 grandchild and 3 great
grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 1pm at the Willow Glen
Cemetery, Dryden NY. Friends and family are all welcome.
