Mary Henry, 78, most recently of Auburn, NY passed away at St. Anthony's on the Commons, Auburn, NY on September 24, 2024. She lived most of her life in Homer, NY along with most of her family living within a couple of blocks of one another. Mary was born in Homer, NY to Cornelius Robert Fitzgerald Sr. & Lucy E. (Hicks) Fitzgerald on June 7, 1946. She worked at Smith Corona and then Cortland Line until she retired. After retirement she cherished being a grandma to her two granddaughters and spending time with family at Sunday night dinners Mary is survived by her daughter, Tina (Jesse) Spaulding, grandchildren Mandie (Ty) Young and Morgan Spaulding and one great grandchild, Barrett Young. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A few of them held a very special place in her heart. Her niece Lucy Cooper, who was more like a sister; and her nephews Anthony (Tony) Fitzgerald, Daniel (Tiny) Fitzgerald, Arthur (A.J.) Petrie and Scott Petrie. Mary was predeceased in death by her parents, sisters, Ellen Nowalk, Evelyn Palladino, Louise Riley, Lillian Batsford, Isabelle Petrie; brothers Robert Fitzgerald, Daniel Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, Cornelius Robert Fitzgerald, Jr., Arthur (Artie) Fitzgerald and an infant brother, and a very special sister in law, Anna Fitzgerald. The family would like to thank Lucy Cooper and Jenny Armstrong for all their help. A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY.
