Obituary of Phillip Sopp

Phillip Abraham Sopp, 58, of Cortland, NY died unexpectedly with his wife Susan by his side on September 27,2024. He was born in Cortland, NY in 1966 to Abdullah and Lucille Sopp. He was preceded in death by his father in 1968. Phil and Sue were high school sweethearts who were married for 37 years. They dedicated their lives to one another and their children. Phil worked hard to provide for his family and gave every task his all. Those who had the pleasure of working with Phil knew how hard he worked. Phil was an avid hunter and a great outdoorsman. He enjoyed snowmobiling with his sons, dirt biking and riding his Harley, watching scary movies and spoiling his dogs. He will be so greatly missed by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Susan (Burlingame), his mother Lucille (Leanord), his brother Michael, his children Sonya (Adam Tramp), Phillip "Tony", and Jonathan and his grandchildren Alexis Sopp, Brooke, Benjamin, Bradley, Brett and Brielle Tramp. Phil loved chocolate and coffee, so please join us Sunday October 6th at The Port Watson Mini conference center for a celebration of life with coffee and sweets. Family will be present from 2-4pm.
