Obituary of Ernest "Sparky" Searfoss

Ernest "Sparky" Searfoss, 76, of Cortland, passed away on September 30, 2024 at Crown Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on February 29, 1948 in Waverly, NY, to his parents the late Leo N. Searfoss Sr. and Juanita E. "Bruce" Searfoss. Sparky made his career as an engineer. Working on various major projects nationwide. He enjoyed visiting notable buildings and had a meticulous eye for detail. Throughout his life he lived in New Orleans, Georgia, and Florida, before returning home to New York. He was a good golfer and an excellent billiards player. He is survived by his brother Leo "Rocky" Searfoss and his sister Karen (Mike) Sheridan. His nieces and nephews; Bill Crane, Ann (George) Sheridan-Angel, Mike Sheridan, Melissa (Bridget) Searfoss-Law, Katie (Tim) Sheridan-Finnerty, and Jeff (Katie) Sheridan; great nieces and nephews, Sheridan Crane, Chancey Crane, Brooks Angel, Leo Angle, Mick Sheridan, and Avery Sheridan. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister-in-law Fayann Searfoss and his niece Lisa Crane.
